Made of heavy-gauge aluminum, this type of bakeware pan is used for a variety of foods such as pizza, bread, and meat. They also work well for egg, potato and casserole dishes. Though generally disposable, it can be reused if cleaned well after use. Care: Aluminum foil bakeware can be cleaned with hot soapy water or a nylon scouring pad for extra cleaning. If you use a dishwasher, do not stack heavier dishes on top of aluminum foil bakeware.
Ovenproof glass gets heated up quickly and can save around 25 degrees. Non-Stick bakeware are used for browning muffins or cookies. Silicone also enables you to get the desired browning effect and the best thing is that these are maintenance free and dishwasher safe. Silicone is resistant, durable and will not break even if it falls down. Silicone bakeware is made of FDA-approved food grade silicone and is well suited for a wide range of temperatures from -40 to 500 degrees. It is flexible and soft and wo not occupy much storage space as well. Care should be taken to use only water for washing and this kitchen ware cannot be put in a dishwasher.
Pyrex is the original glass Bakeware. You can see through the dishes to see what you are cooking. It is no longer just available in clear glass, though, you can purchase different shades of Pyrex to coordinate with your kitchen. That way you can take the dishes out of the oven and put them right on the table, giving it even more appeal. Unfortunately, glass can chip, crack and break, so if you drop Pyrex or other glass dish, it is probably a goner.
