Ovenproof glass gets heated up quickly and can save around 25 degrees. Non-Stick bakeware are used for browning muffins or cookies. Silicone also enables you to get the desired browning effect and the best thing is that these are maintenance free and dishwasher safe. Silicone is resistant, durable and will not break even if it falls down. Silicone bakeware is made of FDA-approved food grade silicone and is well suited for a wide range of temperatures from -40 to 500 degrees. It is flexible and soft and wo not occupy much storage space as well. Care should be taken to use only water for washing and this kitchen ware cannot be put in a dishwasher.
Teflon Bakeware is still a popular choice for its nonstick properties. The slick coating makes easy work of clean up, and leaves the food intact. Cookies and breads slide right off the coated surface making it ideal to use when a pretty presentation is essential. Extra care must be taken when using and cleaning Teflon so it does not become scratched, which will ruin the nonstick properties of the surface. Metal utensils should be avoided; instead plastic tools must be used to avoid scratching the nonstick coating.
When you are following a recipe that requires you to use bakeware, the first thing to determine is whether you have the proper size pans. For instance, your recipe suggests that you use a pan of a certain size, if you do not have it, you can generally substitute a similar size baking pan without any problem. But take the following into account.
